Pagaret Keeling was born in Totnes, Devon, England, the daughter Jessie Howes and Guy William Keeling. Her maternal grandfather was the Victorian artist Thomas Howes. As an 18- year-old student she traveled alone to Montreal, Canada. In 1934, she was a student at Central School of Art and Design in London. Pagaret Keeling is also famous for a number of impasto style floral oil paintings which were sold throughout the world (1915 - 2000).
